This is the futuristic glass building which will house Britain’s first extreme sports centre.
The complex, in Altrincham, will be home to an ice rink, a giant rock-climbing wall, an ice wall, skateboard track and a water tube for surfing. The planned £120m redevelopment of the station area would also include a 250-bedroom, four star hotel, about 90 apartments, and shops related to the lifestyle of the extreme sports enthusiasts.
We created a detailed model and produced a set of visuals for the exciting development, which went to public consultation recently. Our client was the innovate developer NIKAL, and the architect is Ian Simpson, the man responsible for No1 Deansgate and the Beetham Tower in Manchester.
